Welcome to my imperfect email.

As always, every week, we’ll send a question that will help you reflect on your own imperfect life, inspired by this week’s episode.

It’s summer (insert bad joke about Melbourne weather here). And we know you’re all still in vacay mode, so we’re bringing the fun, the silliness, AND the spookiness.

WoooOOOOoooOOOoooo,

Bell

Bell Northeast

do you have a ghost story? (come on, prove Josh wrong)

We'd love to hear your answer to this question. If you're in the mood to get vulnerable and share your writing, send it through.

Spooky Summer - Hugh’s Haunted House

Do you believe in ghosts? Josh doesn’t, Ryan does, and Hugh is actually being haunted.

It’s the second episode of our super sexy summer series (a paranormal amount of alliteration for one episode), and we’re revisiting the time that Hugh got haunted.

Blending together a few episodes of A Little More Imperfects, our subscriber platform that you can sign up for below, we’ll introduce you to Geraint the shamanic healer, what happened during Hugh’s ghost busting appointment, and whether Hugh has had any paranormal activity since.

And finally, whether this whole ordeal has convinced Josh that ghosts are real.

Long live summer!

what has been the scariest moment in your life?

I live and work with cattle - scary moments happen all the time.

I've been pinned up against the cattle yards by an agitated and unwell cow protecting her calf. I've been out in the paddock when a storm was brewing and lightening started getting too close. And I've come "this close" to stepping on a red belly black snake.

I don't like snakes, angry cattle can be scary, and lightening is dangerous. But there's something about being out there that makes all that feel ok. It is expected.

It was a close encounter in the house an hour ago that really got my heart pumping - just minutes before I opened this week's Vulnerabilitea-mail.

I claim to be a farmer, but really - I am a farmer's wife. I help out in the paddock, but spend most of my time at my day job. This involves sitting in my protected home office, typing at my computer. I have a view of the farm, with lots of big windows and a glass door that leads straight out onto the deck. The dogs (and the husband) often pop their heads in the door and say hi.

I was typing away today, engrossed in my work, and chasing a tight deadline, when something caught my eye in the aforementioned (open) glass doorway. For context - said doorway has no screens. Sliding across the doorway was a snake!!

I want to say it was a bloody great big snake - it wasn't. Did I mention I don't like snakes? I froze (probably smart) then flew backwards across the room on my chair (probably not so smart). The snake paused. Lifted its head. Made itself even scarier.
Then started to move away.

I jumped out of my seat. Slammed the door (multiple times for impact). Ran to the next door room, which also has doors onto the same deck. Slammed that door (multiple times for effect).

Then, shaking, made my way back to the desk and tried to refocus on the deadline. It is hard to type, think and be productive when the adrenaline is pumping! Then - flicking through emails in search of some info from a colleague, I came across the Vulnerabilitea-mail, and reflected back on Brian Brown's story.

My encounter wasn't as scary as his. And it didn't involve diesel OR petrol - thank god. I can never remember which to use on the fire so generally avoid both - and I once put the wrong thing in the ute. That was an expensive day! But it did get the heart pumping and it did make me feel more alive! It also made me feel alone - because moments like these definitely need to be shared!

Thanks for letting me download!

I have managed to calm down enough to finish the work day - with the doors shut!!
