Welcome to my imperfect email.

As always, every week, we’ll send a question that will help you reflect on your own imperfect life, inspired by this week’s episode.

And well, we’ve never done this before.

This week we’re bringing you THREE WHOLE EPISODES, in what we have dubbed Tea-House week: to celebrate the birth of Volume II of the Vulnerabilitea House Card set.

Aren’t you a lucky duck,

Bell

Bell Northeast

how can you show up for someone in a way that’s truly meaningful?

We'd love to hear your answer to this question. If you're in the mood to get vulnerable and share your writing, send it through.

Vulnerabilitea House VII Celebration Week

With Hugh, Ryan and Josh

(from the podcast)

Today, Wednesday and Friday, we’re taking it back to where it all started: just three guys and a baby couple of vulnerable questions.

Each episode, either Ryan, Hugh or Josh will answer one of our 52 brand new Vulnerabilitea House questions.

In today’s episode, Ryan answers the question “do you have any regrets about the way you have treated others?”

And in a sneak peak for our lovely my imperfect email subscribers …..

On Wednesday, Hugh will answer “when is a time in your life where you genuinely needed help? Were you able to ask for it?”

And on Friday, Josh answers “what moment from your life are you grateful for, that profoundly changed you?”

Don’t say we don’t spoil you,

For right now

Have a check-in with yourself.

Do any of these symptoms of burnout resonate with you?

  • constant exhaustion

  • withdrawal

  • loss of motivation

  • irritability + negativity

  • struggling to focus

  • physical warning signs

  • reduced sense of accomplishment

In Hugh’s episode, he describes how each symptom of burnout has been impacting his mental health. It is a great reminder to check in with ourselves, and if relating to some of the symptoms, perhaps looking at what needs to be prioritised in our life to avoid complete burnout. To help you with this, you may need an objective judge (a loved one who wants what’s best for you).

(12:02-17:20) this timecode is from Hugh’s episode which will be released Wednesday.

For this week

Look at your calendar and book in a moment of proper connection with a loved one. This could look like a 10 minute phone call, walk around the block or coffee at your local cafe.

In Josh’s episode, he reflects on how a moment of proper connection was the catalyst (amongst other good habits) for an upward trajectory of his mental health.

(13:10) this timecode is from Josh’s episode which will be released Friday.

For this season of your life

Show up for someone in a meaningful way.

In Ryan’s episode he asks Hugh how he could show up in a meaningful way. For this specific example, it looked like Ryan sending Hugh some funny videos. (22:19 - 23:15)

what is your soul yearning for?

To be honest, I don’t know.

I read this question multiple times hoping that I would uncover a yearning I was unaware of.

The only words that kept repeating in my mind was peace and space.

I don’t know if this is a reflection of my stage of life. I am a teacher of an incredibly challenging class, filled with noise and chaos. I come home to small children and a house also filled with noice and chaos.

I constantly feel like I am behind and drowning in to-do lists. I can think of nothing better than some time in my day with no one touching me, or being able to sit in silence.

I am so aware of not wishing the time away while my children are young, but I do look forward to enjoying going to bed at night and not feeling completely touched out.

I look forward to the day that I can answer what my soul is yearning for in a different way. I am guessing that to figure that out, I first need to figure out who I am independent of my children.

Sam

Thank you to Sam for getting vulnerable and sharing their reflection with us, and with all of you!

Always vulnerable responsibly.

That’s right, baby. We’re going back on the road in 2025.

Actually, we’re going back on the road (checks watch) INCREDIBLY soon.

Hugh, Ryan and Josh are back with a brand new live show, Together Again.

Like the last live show, this won’t just be a live podcast recording, but a stage show extravaganza mixing vulnerability, humour and authenticity (and signing and dancing and probably a game show).

And guests! We’ve got guests!

Hamish Blake, Steve Curry, Rana Hussain, Christie Whelan Brown, Hannah Ferguson, Matt Okine, Glenn Robbins, Susie Youssef and even our resident psychologist, Dr Emily Musgrove.
