Welcome to my imperfect email.
As always, every week, we’ll send a question that will help you reflect on your own imperfect life, inspired by this week’s episode.
Hey babe, did you know that Andy Cooks is on The Imperfects this week?
Join us as Andy chats about his story with addiction, and the support he received in breaking the cycle.
Bon appetit,

Bell Northeast

what has been your biggest failure and how was it good or bad for you?
We'd love to hear your answer to this question. If you're in the mood to get vulnerable and share your writing, send it through.

what is a realisation that made you want to be a better version of yourself?
I realised I wanted to be a better version of myself after a failed 20 year marriage, and three more failed relationships following that. In every single relationship I tried to force somebody to love me. I tried to be somebody I wasn’t.
Even after changing myself, they still ended up leaving. Eventually, after all of that, I finally realised that I needed to learn to love myself and accept my true self before anything else. If I didn’t love me how could anyone else?
I changed my outlook on life completely and looked inside instead of outside for validation. I looked at the type of person I was, the type of person I wanted to be, the type of people I wanted in my life. I chose to make it my job, my responsibility, to be better, to do better and to expect better.
I completely turned my life around, and now still single five years later, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m the most fulfilled I’ve ever been and I’m at a point in my life where I can now start to share what I’ve learnt to help others find their way, find their own self love.
How I feel about myself is the most important thing. How others feel about me, well, that’s up to them. Some will love me, and some will not and that’s perfectly okay.
Deb

Thank you to Deb for getting vulnerable and sharing their reflection with us, and with all of you!
Always vulnerable responsibly.

Andy Doesn’t Drink (Anymore)
With Andy Cooks
Andy Hearnden, better known for his online moniker Andy Cooks, is a professional chef and home cook extraordinaire, with more YouTube and TikTok followers than the population of a small country.
Joining us in the Vulnerabilitea House, Andy answers the question, “what’s been your biggest failure and how was it good or bad for you?”

Imitating the behaviour of others around him, alcohol became a normal part of Andy’s daily routine, and eventually, his identity. Andy opens up to Hugh, Ryan and Josh about the non-linear nature of his sobriety journey, and the incredible support of his partner Katelyn (Babe).
As a garnish, Andy chats to Ry about breaking the cycle of poor people management, and learning how to become a leader.

This week on A Little More Imperfects . . .
Are you more of a Hugh, a Ryan, or a Josh? Would you take a quiz to find out?
In a real peak behind the curtain, Bell has collected Hugh, Ryan and Josh’s ‘notes’ from a four hour, super serious, growth and strategy meeting. Which will now be read allowed. Promise it’s not a stitch up.
A beautiful reflection is fished from the pond, which prompts Josh to consider what his songs mean to other people (cue the tears).
Hugh’s got a new segment, which takes a dark turn. BUT, you can play along at home. See, COMMUNITY!
Finally, Ry’s taking everything he learnt in radio and applying it to you guys. A cliff hanger, if you will.
